Boost Mobile Android Phones

Posted Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 at 12:47 am in Boost Mobile

Motorolla has confirmed that they will in fact release 10 android phones over the next year, with prices starting as low as $40. Boost Mobile has quite a few Motorolla handsets and there is no doubt that the lower end Android models that have been planned will make their way to Boost Mobile.

This is exciting because Android is an extremely powerful mobile operating system and, best of all, is open source. This makes it possible to make high end feature sets available in low priced mobile phones.

Let’s hope that Virgin Mobile soon receives some of HTC’s Android phones. Virgin Mobile extensively uses HTC products and it would go without saying that if BM is to release a Droid phone, than VM will soon follow.

This is very exciting, and is great news for the prepaid industry as a whole. We will soon see even more drops in cellular prices and a huge rise in features.

As you know, Boost is a division of Sprint. And Sprint just bought out Virgin Mobile. As I am an employee of Boost/Sprint, I am here to tell you that Android is NOT scheduled to be a part of the Boost or Virgin lineup. It is not planned for this year.

It appears there is a great demand for low priced cell bills and a great demand for smart phones… The interesting factor is who will be the “first to market” with both? Boost Mobile now offers BlackBerry however the cost is extra (ouch). However Cricket another low cost provider just announced it will have a Blackberry and an Android phone!!!
Who will get the adroid first: Boost, PCS, Virgin, or Cricket?

I think who ever gets it to the public first will be the winner and thats who I will sign up with! The race is on!
