If you have a prepaid phone that wasn’t originally shipped with GPS, that doesn’t mean that you cannot take advantage of some form of GPS or navigation for your cell phone. Maybe your phone did come with GPS, but the provided maps leave something to be desired.
Using Google Maps Mobile, you can take advantage of navigation and GPS like features with almost any phone. It works by determining your general location by triangulating your position using cell phone towers, much like GPS uses satellites. It’s not quite as accurate, but if your phone did ship with GPS you can use the GPS instead of cell phone towers.
It’s a great thing to have if you are ever lost, or out and need directions fast. I’m actually posting this today because Google Maps Mobile saved me a whole lot of time when I was stuck in traffic today!

The Samsung Slash for Virgin Mobile is currently on sale at BestBuy.com for $39. The Slash is also on sale at VirginMobileUSA.com for $59 (regularly $79).
The Slash is a great phone with many nice features. The only complaints I have heard that the phone is a bit small for those with big hands, but aren’t most phones? It’s a great deal when you compare it to the less feature rich Arc, which is currently on sale also for $39.

I realized the other day when talking to my 16 year old cousin that many young people no longer are aware of AIM’s (AOL Instant Messenger) use as a text messenger.
All you have to do is click “Add Buddy” and instead of a screen name, type +1 and than their cell phone number, so that it is like +15555555555. You can than click on their number in your buddy list and send a text message to them instantly.
The only problem is that people can not start a text message session with you, you must send them a message first. It’s a quick, easy, FREE way to send text messages!

T-Mobile Prepaid is now offering a prepaid blackberry pearl 2 phone for $299. The plan will require you to pay $64.99 a month for 600 anytime minutes and unlimited text/internet usage.
You’ve been able to use a blackberry on T-Mobile Prepaid for awhile now, but this new plan makes it easy and affordable. It’s nice to see that they have realized the demand for more advanced prepaid phones and are stepping up to offer something.
The Blackberry Pearl II can be found at Best Buy for $299 and is only available in certain markets. Call your local Best Buy to see if they are offered in your area, and if not when they expect to receive them.

Virgin Mobile has a kickback codes program that makes it easy for customers to receive bonus airtime by referring new customers. The person who refers you using their kickback code gets 60 free minutes, and the person activating their phone also gets 60 bonus minutes.
This post is dedicated to users who would like to post their referral codes. I encourage anyone looking for 60 free minutes when they activate to scroll through the comments and select a random code, that way you are helping everyone and not just the first to comment. Share the love, everyone.
One lucky reader who emailed me a code is getting theirs posted here:
