Editor’s Review of Virgin Mobile
Overall, I rate Virgin Mobile the highest. Having worked with Virgin Mobile (I am no longer associated with VM) I know the insides and outs of Virgin Mobile. The main thing I love about VM is the fact that they always offer promotions. If you ask a representative when topping up if there are any promotions that you qualify for they will tell you.
Virgin Mobile also offers some of the best monthly plans with awesome features such as unlimited text messaging/picture messaging/email, and unlimited web browsing.
Price
Offering both monthly and per minute usage, VM is able to offer the best price based on your usage. Your also able to change your plan at any time, with no contract.
They charge 10 cents a minute, but monthly plans get free nights and weekends starting at 7pm.
Phones
Virgin Mobile definitely does not offer the best phones, but they do offer the cheapest! You can get a free phone usually when you are a new customer and buy airtime. If your looking for a phone with a lot of cool features and not simply a backup or a throw away, than your better off somewhere else.
Features
Unlimited text messaging and internet are available, a long with value added services such as Sugar Momma or the service when you can request a call from your phone that will provide you with an urgent call prompt requiring your departure: allowing you to escape from a date gone bad or an annoying neighbor.
Support
Virgin Mobile customer service is 24/7/265, and they are more than willing to help troubleshoot phone issues or answer questions regarding your phone or service.
Service Area
Virgin Mobile uses Sprint’s mobile network to provide service to their customers, which is a highly rated and widespread network!
Text Messaging
Unlimited Text messaging is available. Without an unlimited text plan text messages range from 10 cents, to 5 cents, to 1 cent – depending on whether you have a text plan or pay for each message.
Picture messaging is included in unlimited plans, but without they are 25 cents apiece.
Internet
Without an internet plan you are charged $1.50 for every 24 hour time period you use internet browsing. With an internet plan you are charged between $1 and 50 cents for every MB you use.

I’ve had Virgin Mobile for years now, and I have to admit I have been very impressed with them over and over.. They are great people and their customer service is top notch. The quality of the phones does leave a bit to be desired though you really can’t find a phone for less cash!
Virgin Mobile was my first cell phone provider, and in my review I have given them a very low rating for their phones. I switched to Tracfone because I like their phones better and their pricing structure seems much cheaper. Virgin Mobile also has this youth stigma attached to it and I feel like a teenager using their services.
virgin mobile is pretty good i havent had any problems and I do like the new phones they have even if they are not amazing quality
Despite any negative reviews I might have found when I was researching for a new carrier, I still decided to go with Virgin Mobile . I opted to go no-contract since it was the reason I left my previous carrier and Virgin’s pay-as-you is awesome. I cut down my minutes drastically and went with a $20/200 minute plan with roll forward and $10 for 1,000 texting and $30 a month is a huge break over the $110 I was previously paying.
While the phone selection is limited, it hardly expensive and has some really great buys and the calling network has been very dependable.
Speaking of dependable, Virgin Mobile has a whole new program out that is really helping people get and keep a cell phone. Their “Assurance Wireless” program is being in offered in five states and exclusively to low income, qualifying families and its an amazing deal. Qualified customers can get both a phone and 200 minutes, with no fees or contract, for $10 a month with the potential to expand their program at. 10 a minute. While the program is new, I can only hope it will expand to more states and people who could also use a plan like this.
